The cost break-down of the collector unit is described in Table II. The cost per unit for each component of the system includes raw material, labor and machinery, which are incorporated in the same item as unitary cost.

These unitary costs were estimated by comparison with structures and mechanisms with similar level of labor and machinery required.

Most of the weight of the collector structure is formed by almost raw material with low level of labor and machinery such as foundation pylons, support beams and receiver’s columns. The moving structures of the mirrors such as frame assemblies, tracking bars, springs, etc. may be manufactured with moderate level of labor and machinery for standardized products and high-volume production.

The cost of the reflective aluminum foil MIRO2 4200GP was obtained from the manufacturer ALANOD (Germany).
