As can be seen in Table III, the cost per kilowatt peak of the concentrator system is about $ 4,100, while a residential solar PV system today costs about $ 8,000-$10,000 per kWp installed, so that the above numbers strongly suggest that the concentrating PV system has the potential to halve the cost of PV electricity, at least for sunny regions like the Southwest United States where potential market exists for remote or grid-connected PV power systems.
